Young Engineers Australia - Victoria

Young Engineers Australia Victoria (or YEA-V as they are often known) are a community of volunteers acting in an official capacity as ambassadors of Engineers Australia to early-career engineers across the state of Victoria.

YEA-V exist to support these early career engineers in a number of ways; by communicating their ongoing changing needs to Engineers Australia, by organising or promoting events to support the professional and career development of these engineers, and by providing ongoing support and community to all who seek it.

YEA-V events are organised throughout the year to promote and develop the skills of engineers in a relaxed, friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.

I'm sure you'd all agree that the last few weeks have felt rather strange. It’s been a rather turbulent and often frustrating transition; for both students who have had to shift to online learning, and for many young professionals who have moved to odd reality of working from home. My apologies also go out to anyone who has had their work reduced due to COVID-19.

For me it’s been a challenge managing distractions whilst working, and conversely trying to busy myself in my free time.

In happier news YEA-V has had some productive Zoom meetings, discussing ways we can go virtual! Hopefully we will have some CPD events for you shortly. In the meantime, we'll be active on social media. Feel free to get in contact and start a conversation.

Hope you have a great day!
